VMware announces general availability of vCloud Hybrid Service in Asia-Pacific region

vCloud Hybrid Service is VMware’s owned and operated IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) offering, released in September 2013 in the US only and extended to Europe (UK) in February 2014.
This week, through its official blog, VMware announced two new partnerships with SoftBank (Japan) and China Telecom (obviously China) aimed to launch vCHS in Asia.

In Japan the service will likely retain all the features currently offered in US and Europe and is already available to customers as a private beta, the general availability is scheduled for Q4 of this year.

In China the service will be operated by China Telecom itself, in a very common scenario for foreign companies that operates behind chinese boundaries, and called CT E-surfing Hybrid Cloud Services (Powered by China Telecom and VMware), it will provide only Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) initially, with the potential to deliver future solutions that include Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service and Desktop-as-a-Service.
For this country the service availability is still undisclosed.
