Citrix yesterday announced a Tech Preview of a Service Template for System Center Virtual Machine Manager capable of installing Citrix XenDesktop using the service template functionality provided by System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM). Citrix has developed the template in cooperation with Dell which will release this as part of the Dell DVS Enterprise for Citrix XenDesktop solution expected this quarter.
A Virtual Machine Manager template provides a standardized group of hardware and software settings that can be used repeatedly to create new virtual machines configured with those settings. The XenDesktop 7.1 Service Template enables rapid deployment of virtual app and desktop infrastructure on Microsoft System Center 2012 private clouds.
