Release: TurnKey Hub 1.0

On March 30, TurnKey Linux announced the availability of version 1.0 of the TurnKey Hub, a free web service that integrates TurnKey Linux with the Amazon Web Services cloud.

TurnKey Hub provides two main feature:

  • TurnKey Cloud Servers: an automation solution to deploy server apps from TurnKey’s library to Amazon EC2
  • TurnKey Backup and Migration: a backup solution to Amazon S3, thought to make it easy for instance to test backups in the cloud

Turnkey Hub is now out of private beta and the registration is now open, supporting OpenID and existing identities. The Hub provides full support for TurnKey Linux, a well known virtual appliance library which provides more than 45 different opensource appliances for various needs.

Hub also supports basic pre-launch configuration, for instance changing default passwords before deployment, a feature we’re always keen to see in cloud products.

Turnkey Linux has been added to cloudcomputing.info’s radar and is now tracked.
