Today, September 30, IBM announced its latest $8 million investment, the opening of a new cloud center that is located in Southern Spain, in a Catalan city called Cerdanyola del Vallés, Barcelona. This new european data center is announced a week after the investment of US$ 17 million in a new data center located in Bogotà, Colombia.
The International Business Machines Corporation, once again is confirming its need to be up-to-date with the cloud technology market and not to be left behind the other vendors. This new Spanish center is located in the same facility as the “la Caixa” data processing center. Spanish savings bank “la Caixa” and IBM already agreed in 2011 that the Big Blue was going to provide technology infrastructure services, application management and operations for the financial institution and at the same time the american company is allowed to operate the Data Processing Centers.
With this new centre, IBM is going to provide its customers with a tailored cloud offering according to the business needs of both large companies and public entities and small and medium enterprises.

We are proud of the fact that we can provide technological services from Barcelona to clients from any part of the world.
