Red Hat acquires FeedHenry

We are living in a mobile world and the future will be more wireless than ever, we are working with technology all the time using our smartphones and tablets, the demand is increasing every day and this is what led open source software specialist Red Hat fill the gap in its mobile portfolio and to acquire Irish software firm FeedHenry, the company specialized in mobile enterprise application platform technologies.

Founded in 2010, with offices in Dublin, Staines, England and Burlington, Massachusetts, FeedHenry specializes in mobile enterprise application platform technologies, providing its customers with a cloud-based platform which enables large businesses to build and deploy mobile apps, giving the possibility to interact with their existing computer systems.

The terms of the acquisition are not disclosed yet but apparently they have reached an agreement where Red Hat buys FeedHenry’s mobile development platform, for about 63.5 million Euros in cash and the deal is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter 2015.

Among the advantages, FeedHenry solution has an open architecture based on Node.js compatible with Xamarin, Sencha Touch, Apache Cordova, Titanium, HTML5 and other technologies for creating software aimed at the major mobile platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry.
