VMware launches VMware vCloud Air Network program

All the major vendors in the cloud computing market are investing in their hybrid cloud programs, VMware is no exception and today has launched the new VMware vCloud Air Network program, an evolution of their existing VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP).

According to VMware the vCloud Air Network can count more than 3800 service providers partners in over 100 countries, each provider will be designated as:

  • IaaS Powered: to identify vSphere as the foundational technology inside the provider
  • Hybrid Cloud Powered: to identify who offers vCloud Director bi-directional services
  • Horizon DaaS Powered: to identify partners able to offer desktop as a service deployments

VMware took advantage of this momentum to rebrand vCloud Hybrid Service into VMware vCloud Air, its owned and operated public Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) service, launched in 2013 in US and in 2014 in Europe.
