Logentries raises $10M in Series A funding

UCD (University College Dublin) cloud based service provider spin-out company, Longentries announced to have raised $10m in Series A funding led by Polaris Ventures, together with Floodgate, RRE Ventures and Frontline Ventures, furthermore Longentries also informed to have named Andrew Burton as President and CEO.

Logentries, founded in 2012 by two researchers at the University College Dublin’s Performance Engineering Laboratory after a decade of joint research with IBM, offers a cloud-based Big Data analysis platform able to collect logs in real-time from across the software stack, whether in the cloud, on premise, or both, entering into the same market of the massively popular Splunk.

Logentries is going to use the funds to accelerate product development and develop a go-to-market strategy.  The company is working with over 10,000 users worldwide, processing more the 20 billion log events per day.
