StrongLoop raises $8M in Series A funding and has a new CEO

Californian startup StrongLoop, announced to have raised a $8 millions Series A funding that will allow  to continue the investment to the growth of the company and the development of their product, a server-side JavaScript framework that allows to connect applications to multiple data sources: Node.js.
According to GigaOm that gave the news, StrongLoop was created by the Node.js authors to offer a fully supported version of their product. The company announced also LoopBack, a Node.js based mobile backend-as-a-service (MBaaS)

The Series A funding was led by Shasta Ventures and Ignition Partners, furthermore the company has a new CEO, Isaac Roth, who created Red Hat OpenShift.
