CloudPhysics raises $10M in Series B funding

CloudPhysics, founded on November 2011 but publicly presented only in July 2012, has the aim to deliver an effective cloud-based IT operations management service able to aggregate more than 80 billion data samples of operations data received daily from its global user base.
This Series B funding, led by Kleiner Perkins Caufiled comes atop a previous $2.5M founding from angel investors and the Mayfield Fund announced in August 2012.

Considering that the company founders are John Blumenthal and Irfan Ahmad respectively former Product Manager and former Technical Lead at VMware, we can assume that the money will be invested to ease VMware deployment.

Today the company also released its SaaS offering that starts at $49 per month per physical server.

Managing virtualized IT means managing an ever-changing, dynamic set of conditions. Today’s static solutions can’t keep pace and a new approach is called for — leveraging collective intelligence drawn from industrywide operations big data and delivering solutions rapidly via SaaS as users encounter new operational problems. This infusion of capital will accelerate our aggressive growth plans as we continue to hire the industry’s best engineering talent and expand our global IT operational data service.

said John Blumenthal, CEO and Co-Founder of CloudPhysics.
