Release: 6fusion Marketplace

Today September 19, 6fusion, a provider of the utility-metered public, private and hybrid cloud platform and services announced the release of the 6fusion Marketplace, a product that would be able to enable users and suppliers of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) to buy and sell in a open marketplace.
The 6fusion Marketplace aims to homogenize infrastructure-as-a-service contracting across service providers and determine the infrastructure type, quantities, timeframe, and pricing that meet business and technical requirements in the marketplace.

As mentioned on 6fusion’s website, the product is created using two key technologies, the Workload Allocation Cube (WAC), IT infrastructure metering algorithm which allows to measure consumption and capacity of compute, network and storage resources, and compute types which represent categories of commonly occurring infrastructure consumption patterns.

John Cowan, 6fusion CEO and Cofounder, said:

The Marketplace is highly disruptive because it brings the principles of market economics to an industry currently dominated by one supplier, 6fusion is making it possible for buyers and sellers to have an apples-to-apples business conversation about supply and demand across heterogeneous infrastructure platforms and suppliers.
